Guiding Loch's Scotland
LOCH LEVEN (Possible Venue for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Champs for 2009 Scotland)
Guided days or trips to Scotland, fly fish the World Famous Loch Leven home of International Competition Fly fishing where it all started. Fish in one of the Solid Clinker build boat that are over 100yrs old. Days session, evenings or if you fancy a crack at the big guys with dry flies on an early morning session.
This is a real part of history as Loch Leven is World famous and exported their trout eggs and unique strain of Brown trout all over the world.

I managed to catch the first ever double figure fish from the Loch and it was a Grown-On rainbow trout of 10lb 3ozs 10drms, to date this is my best fish I have ever caught. It was 31" long and the tail span was 10" wide from tip to tip. It was a stunning fish and was caught in 3ft of water on a size 12 claret hopper dry fly and morning I will never forget.

The Loch has a special place in my heart and of many other angler and it is now back to an unstocked wild trout water and is coming back with strong baskets of wild Loch Leven Brown Trouts with the best in 2007 being caught of nearly 7lb a truly magnificent fish in anyones book.

You can learn how to Loch Style fish, learn how to fish sunk lines for the big browns which has been taken all over the world and put into practice to catch fish from all over or just grab a bit of History and go fish this top venue.

NB* Loch Leven is a possible venue yet to be confirmed for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Championships in 2009 Scotland

LAKE OF MENTIETH (Venue for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Champs for 2009 Scotland)

Fancy a day on Scotland now top competition venue the Beautiful Lake of Mentieth set in the heart of the Trossachs. This part of Scotland is known as the Gateway to the Highlands, the scenery is breath taking and the fishing can be pretty much the same with hard fighting rainbows trouts, blues, brownies and the odd pike which can grow to over 40lbs.
If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of one of the Osprey going about their daily work and catching fish better than some of the anglers.
With the current fishery record standing at 17lb 13ozs caught by myself there are some large fish to be caught, but it is more famous for the competition angler and is often referred to the Rutland Water of the North.
Here you can learn in confidence all the top competition methods and experiment also or you can just go for a days fishing.

The Lake will be getting used as a Competition venue for the up and coming World Championships in 2009 so if you are interested in learning the place it is advised to book now.

NB* Boats are limited on the Lake and it is advisable to contact me well in advance if you fancy a day there.

Loch Awe
(Venue for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Champs for 2009 Scotland)

At over 27 miles long and with many places to fish Loch Awe is the big one in the up and coming World Fly Fishing Champs. A guide is essential for here if you are going to be serious about your team and session in the championships.

I can arrange days on Loch Awe with Scottish Anglers who have spent many years fishing the Loch.

With brown trout of over 30lb being caught and huge Pike the Loch is a favorite of many Ferox hunters and big Pike hunters attracting angler from all over not to mention the beautiful scenery.

The Loch can also be a dangerous place due to the size of the water and the way the wind can pick up in minutes. A guide is highly advised.

Best times of year for Loch Awe are March - June for the wild brown trout and all year for the Rainbow trout.

Loch Awe will be getting used as a Competition venue for the up and coming World Championships in 2009 so if you are interested in learning the place it is advised to book now.

LOCH BAA (nr Glencoe Rannoch moors)

You want to fish the wild wild waters of Scotland well loch Baa is one of my favorite's and the small but hard fighting brown trouts are numerous.

The fishing is bank only and as long as you don't mind a bit of walking then you will really enjoy you day there, it is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, the scenery is stunning with Glen Coe standing behind you and the moors and Lochs in front of you. I have been fishing here since I was a teenager and go back every year and it never lets me down the fishing is fast and exciting.

Find the ledges and drops off and cast you litle wet flies and muddlers over the top and full back and the fish will hit the flies like a Great White Shark hitting a seal, fantastic.
