LAKE OF MENTIETH (Venue for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Champs for 2009 Scotland)
Fancy a day on Scotland now top competition venue the Beautiful Lake of Mentieth set in the heart of the Trossachs. This part of Scotland is known as the Gateway to the Highlands, the scenery is breath taking and the fishing can be pretty much the same with hard fighting rainbows trouts, blues, brownies and the odd pike which can grow to over 40lbs.
If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of one of the Osprey going about their daily work and catching fish better than some of the anglers.
With the current fishery record standing at 17lb 13ozs caught by myself there are some large fish to be caught, but it is more famous for the competition angler and is often referred to the Rutland Water of the North.
Here you can learn in confidence all the top competition methods and experiment also or you can just go for a days fishing.

The Lake will be getting
used as a Competition venue for the up and coming World Championships in 2009
so if you are interested in learning the place it is advised to book now.
NB* Boats are limited on the Lake and it is
advisable to contact me well in advance if you fancy a day there.
Loch Awe (Venue for the Fips Mouche World Fly Fishing Champs for 2009 Scotland)
At over 27 miles long and with many places to fish Loch Awe is the big one in the up and coming World Fly Fishing Champs. A guide is essential for here if you are going to be serious about your team and session in the championships.
I can arrange days on Loch Awe with Scottish Anglers who have spent many years fishing the Loch.
With brown trout of over 30lb being caught and huge Pike the Loch is a favorite of many Ferox hunters and big Pike hunters attracting angler from all over not to mention the beautiful scenery.
The Loch can also be a dangerous place due to the size of the water and the way the wind can pick up in minutes. A guide is highly advised.
Best times of year for Loch Awe are March - June for the wild brown trout and all year for the Rainbow trout.
Loch Awe will be getting used as a Competition venue for the up and
coming World Championships in 2009 so if you are interested in learning
the place it is advised to book now.
