Hi, my name is Dave Downie and I was born in Scotland in Greenock in 1970. Since my early teenage years all I have ever wanted to do was Fly-Fishing and get good at it so that one day I could fish for Scotland and represent my country.
At the age of 38 now I have fished for Scotland 10 times at many lvls from the very first every Scotland Youth International Team, to the Loch Style Senior Team to most recently the Scotland Rivers team.
So I have been capped in many discipline and have had the opportunity to also Captain my country at Chew Valley in England.
I have won many individual honors with the Brown Bowl being the top in my list.
The troutmaster's I have also won and been third in and many team events also mostly on Loch Leven and Rutland.
I also won the recent Boat League which was held on the Lake of Mentieth and have a good knowledge of all of these waters.
My most recent passion has been for the River Trout and Grayling and I have fished for Scotland in the River internationals.
I managed the Scotland Team at the recent Fips Mouche World Champs in Finland in 2007 which was a proud moment for me.
I have many achievements in my life but becoming a father to my twins Callum and Laura was the best and I cant wait to take them fishing once they are a little older.
